Frame Fit Measurement

Measure pupillary distance (PD), and optionally segment height, using your computer’s camera. Takes about two minutes.

Before you start

A few things make the difference between a good measurement and a poor one.

  1. Sit about arm’s length from the screen (roughly 40 cm / 16 in), directly facing the camera.
  2. Use even, front-facing light. Avoid strong backlight from a window behind you.
  3. Tie back hair that covers your eyes or eyebrows, and remove your glasses for the first photo.
  4. Hold still and look directly into the camera lens, not at the screen preview, when capturing.

Adds a second step for progressive or bifocal lenses.

Look straight at the camera without your glasses on, then capture.

Step 2 · PD result

Estimated from the distance between your pupils, calibrated against average iris size.

This is an estimate. For prescription accuracy — especially for high-powered lenses — we recommend confirming with in-person measurement before final grinding.

Step 3 · Segment height

Put your eyeglass frames on now, exactly as you’d normally wear them, then capture.

  1. Push the frames up so they sit in their normal wearing position on your nose.
  2. Look straight into the camera lens with your head level.

Step 4 · Mark the lens bottom edge

We’ve marked your detected pupil centers with a crosshair. Click the inside bottom edge of the lens, directly below each crosshair, once per eye.

Results

Segment height is especially sensitive to frame position and posture. If these lenses are progressives, we strongly recommend a final in-person check at fitting.

Measurements are produced by on-device computer vision and an average iris-size calibration; they are not a medical device and are not a substitute for measurement by a licensed optician. Photos are processed locally in your browser and are not uploaded or stored anywhere by this tool.
